Memorial Day

We had a nice, relaxing holiday weekend with our family. On Sunday, we went to the cemetery where Keith is buried. Keith was my mom's husband that passed away from Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in January 0f 2005. Mark's parents live within walking distance from that cemetery, so we walked over with his mom and dad. Mark's aunt Vickie is also buried there, so we visit her grave, too.

They put in a nice pond/stream and the kids had fun playing and throwing rocks into the water.

It was such a beautiful evening. On our walk, we stopped by the local elementary school and let the kids play on the equipment.

We even took our fire pit and made smores with his family. I always forget how stinky you get, and it takes a few washings of my hair to get that campfire smell out! Have you ever tried to roast Starbursts? They are de-lish! Try it next time you are out and about. Just stick that candy right on your stick and pull it out of the fire when it is bubbling. Let cool before placing in your mouth, I know it might be tempting, but you'll be sure to get a sore tongue!

We have been so bad, we haven't been to Keith's grave for a while. We really need to go....I am glad you were able to just walk over.

Starburst!?! I never would have thought. We'll have to give it a try. I hate trying to get campfire smell out!

hmm. so. apparently your husband knows my friend brent, and we all served a mission together. i have seen you around paige and celia's blogs, but brent posted today about the fact that people he knows hang out in cyber space together, but don't really know each other. it's like sands through the hourglass...
you can read his observations here
