24th Celebration

Last weekend was great. Mark was able to take some time off of work and hang out with the family. Thursday was Pioneer Day here in Utah. We cleaned in the morning...I know, no fun there. But, it needed to be done. I have a cleaning lady and she's been off all July.

In Cottonwood Heights they have Butlerville Days, which we have gone to the past few years. It is fun because I always run into people we know from back in the day. They do a parade in the afternoon, and it was so hot! We hang out at Cannon Mortuary with all the Cannon family and watch the parade go by.

Max and Grandma Mookie. (Mark's grandmother)
Hanging out in the shade.
Chet and Ally. We were laughing about blogs and bloggers, and I promised that I would share this one on mine.

After the parade was over, we quickly headed over to Grandma Mookie's house for some delicious dinner.

After dinner and once it cooled off, we headed back over to Butlerville Days to watch some fireworks.
Oooooo Ahhhhhhhh

The fireworks are lit right across the street from where we were on the grass. We had all sorts of debris flying all around us from the fireworks. Even the occasional flying ash. I was worried one would misfire and land right on us.

It was a fun day with our family!

Great fireworks picture! We had the same experience with the ashes in Riverton one year.

Looks like you had a great time. No wonder you have time to do lots of fun things - A CLEANING LADY!!!
What a novel concept.

I've never heard of Butlerville days! It sounds like fun. Has that been going on for years or is it new? Glad you had a great day. I love the July holidays, they're such great family holidays. What's better than a barbeque and fireworks?
